A working session with composer Victor Gama. He is responsible for part of the compositions and soundscapes of the dance film Armazoen.
Wednesday 19 April
A production meeting with Afra and Nicole in which, in preparation for filming, we discuss the shot list (a detailed list of every shot to be filmed for a film or video production).
Monday 17 July
We start looking into acquiring a sea container in which the dance film Armazoen will be screened.
Wednesday 16 August
A production meeting together with Nicole, Joep and Afra. Everything is gone through down to the smallest detail.
Sunday 24 September
We are searching for extras for the second part of the film. For this, I give a presentation to a number of congregation members of the EBG Koningskerk in Amsterdam.
Monday 30 October
The first rehearsal of vocal group Prefuru. The song 'Mi Nene', in which several generations of ancestors are, among other things, called upon for strength and comfort, is rehearsed. Mi Nene can be heard in the first part of the dance film Armazoen and is composed by Gleone Kensenhuis, who also provides the solo vocals for this song.

The first camera rehearsal at one of the Allard Studios, also the filming location where we will later shoot the entire film.
Thursday 23 November
In the workshop with Afra and Joep, we make a replica of the ship's log of the slave ship Hof van Zeeland.
Tuesday 28 November
Together with Nicole, Joep and Afra, we are here filming the logbook for the opening scene of the dance film Armazoen.
Friday 1 December
In the run-up to filming the underwater scene, also the final scene of the dance film, Desta receives her last diving lesson from instructor Sjouke.
Wednesday 6 December
The final rehearsal of vocal group Prefuru at the Koningskerk of the EBG, in the run-up to the audio recording of the song 'Mi Nene'.
Wednesday 13 December
The filming day of the underwater scene for the very last part of the dance film Armazoen, at the diving pool of CWTC in IJmuiden.
Sunday 17 December
The recording day of the song 'Mi Nene' by vocal group Prefuru at Nino's studio. Afterwards, Joep records the voice of the captain.
Saturday 30 December
With Desta, I have the very last studio rehearsal before filming begins.
